On April 8, 2021 within the weeks of International Law, an open lecture by Judge of the Commercial Court of Sumy region Dr Dzhepa Yulia Arturivna was held The topic of lecture was “Peculiarities of dispute resolution with the participation of non-residents in the commercial courts of Ukraine”.
The lecturer focused on the issue of determining the jurisdiction of a commercial dispute between residents and non-residents of Ukraine, the application of Article 76 of the Law of Ukraine “On Private International Law”. She gave examples from case law and shared her own vision of the new institution of dispute settlement with the participation of a judge. Since December 2017, judges of Ukraine have been obliged to create conditions for resolving the dispute by the parties themselves, through peaceful settlement of the dispute, as well as to provide professional support to the parties on the way to their reconciliation.
At the end of the lecture there was a discussion in which the guests of the lecture took an active part.
